Serves as a technical support establishing and maintaining attendance, truancy, medical and other records that affect student attendance. Monitors, maintains, tracks, documents and processes student attendance, discipline and legal documents and release files and records, ensuring compliance with District, State and Federal regulations and policies. Represents the District in attendance related proceedings, monitors student teacher's assistants performing entering data into PowerSchool for accuracy and responds to inquiries requesting student attendance information. Periodically provides medical attention to students. 30%

Respond to information requests from school administrators, school truancy specialists, parole officers, law enforcement and other agencies regarding attendance infractions, truancy, etc. Provide written reference, reports and information in accordance with District, State and Federal rules and regulations, ie, Becca Bill. Mail attendance profiles and truancy letters to parents, guardians and other agencies which support the student's academic success.

Document processing (attendance printouts, facsilmiles, suspension notices, etc.). Run reports for students with 20-consecutive absences for withdrawal purposes. Post interventions relating to truancy in PowerSchool for presentation in compliance with District, State and Federal policies.

Train teachers and building staff on attendance policy and procedure.

Manage public use building reservations. Collaborates with Building Rentals as needed.

Interview, select and train student teacher assistants on attendance policy and procedures and PowerSchool; monitor their work for accuracy.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Principal/Program Manager or other administrator(s), as assigned, with lead direction from the Office Administrator.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge
Working knowledge of WA State Compulsory Attendance Law RCW 28A.225; Working knowledge of WA State Juvenile Act RCW 13.40; Public Disclosure RCW, District policies/procedures, federal and State laws related to student attendance; Educational requirements for graduation; Knowledge of office procedures including grammar, proofreading, phone skills and spelling. Read and interpret attendance data, Becca Bill (WA State Compulsory Attendance law), and District attendance policy; Detail oriented; Skill and experience operating a computer and software programs, including Microsoft office suite and customsoftware applications; Accuracy (data entry, etc.) Abilities
Process reports and requests from law enforcement, probation officers and agencies working with students, including, but not limited to: truancy letters, sub-teacher reports, perfect attendance reports, mismatch reports, attendance profiles, teacher's compound reports, tumbles & bell schedules, e-SIS, and troubleshooting reports; Ability to follow tasks to completion and work with minimal or no supervision; Ability to operate general office machines, ie, copier, fax, computer;Ability to set up and maintain an accurate filing system/records; Work efficiently, organize and set priorities Maintain strict confidentiality Work with minimal supervision Work under pressure and meet deadlines Multitask Work with diverse populations on sensitive matters Maintain complex filing systems Provide liaison support to staff, agencies, parents and guardians Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationship with students, staff, parents, guardians and agency personnel Provide first aid to students and staff
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the Organization's services.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 70% sitting, 10% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under a generally hazard free environment.
EDUCATION:
High school graduation or GED equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
AA Degree (Administration Office Professional or Business Technical)
YEARS of RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of secretarial/clerical work experience that included record keeping and/or statistical work.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of relevant experience in an educational office setting, preferably High School.
SUBSTITUTION:
One (1)year of college or business school may substitute for one year of the required work experience on a month-for-month basis.
REQUIRED TESTING:
None.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
Valid State of Washington Driver's License or equivalent mobility; CPR
