Title and Summary Vice President, Software Engineering Dynamic Yield by Mastercard is seeking an experienced VP of R&D to lead our global R&D department. As VP of R&D, you'll drive organizational success through growth and help define policies and strategic direction. You'll also facilitate the integration of the company into Mastercard and align plans and goals. Our SaaS service is based on AWS, operates at a large scale with a focus on big data and AI/ML technologies, presenting significant technical challenges. You will lead an international development team across two locations, with considerable autonomy to shape the organization to meet business needs. You will need to balance technical and business priorities, deliver high-quality solutions rapidly, and scale the organization effectively. This role requires a visionary technology leader with strong interpersonal and managerial skills, a team player passionate about empowering employees, coding, and cutting-edge technologies, and experienced in building and scaling top-tier tech organizations. The Role and Responsibilities Leadership and Management : Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of R&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Develop strategic plans to meet R&D goals and create a positive work environment. Product Development : Oversee the entire product lifecycle, ensuring timely, high-quality SaaS product delivery. Collaborate across functions to align development with market needs and business objectives. Innovation and Research : Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge. Support research initiatives for new products and features. Build an Efficient R&D Organization : Promote best practices in software development, implement agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD, and monitor project performance to ensure success. Stakeholder Communication : Communicate R&D strategies and outcomes to executives and stakeholders. Provide insights to support strategic decision-making and work closely with product and business managers. About You 10+ years of R&D experience and 5+ years in leading and scaling medium to large R&D teams in corporate settings. Proven success managing large teams and delivering SaaS products. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices. Experience with B2B SaaS platforms and cross-platform solutions (web, mobile, back-end). Excellent leadership, motivation, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills. Deep knowledge of SaaS products and the technology landscape. A proactive, 'Can-Do' attitude. Experience with Big Data and AI is advantageous. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to succeed.
