This position will start on August 25, 2025. Applicants must be able to work 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Aug. 25-29, 2025. September 2nd is the first day onsite with SAC participants.

Salary Range:

is $23.21-$24.91 per hour according to the 2023-2025 salary schedule for district paraprofessionals. School Age Care employees are also eligible for a stipend through the Great Start Compensation Grant through the Department of Human Services. Stipends are based on the number of hours childcare staff work directly with children. Must attend professional development days set forth by the School Age Care Department.

Morning, Monday - Friday 6:30-8:30 am

Line of Supervision:

School Age Care Coordinator, School Age Care Manager, and School Age Care Inclusion Manager.

Primary Function: To support and; assist children with special needs in School Age Care, to assist the site lead(s), in supervising children with their learning, providing a quality, age-appropriate care, programming and curriculum under the direction of the Program Coordinator and the Inclusion Manager.

Qualifications : Experience with children with high needs in group situations, good communication skills, high degree of flexibility. Experience working with children of diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds. Two or more years of post-secondary training in education or a related field earning 60 credits or passing the ParaPro assessment. Experience working with children with special needs. Experience with children in group situations, good communication skills, and high degree of flexibility. Familiarity with operating an iPad Must be CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. (Preferred) Must have had Mandated Reporting training. (Preferred) CPI preferred. Ability to work as a team member with staff and parents. Ability to actively supervise and participate with children in all activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Assist in the implementation and preparation of curriculum and enrichment activities for students. Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs. Assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning. Assist students with physical needs and personal care, including feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene. Review IEPs and work with the Inclusion Manager on Inclusion Plans. Assist and participate with children in activities while in mainstream activities. Document observations and behavior reports. Ensure close parent/staff/school communication and make modifications to the program when necessary. Work in groups to assist students with daily activities. Supervise children's indoor and outdoor playtimes. Assist in guiding children's behavior using a positive and consistent style. Carry out first aid and emergency procedures. Ability to work as a team member with staff and parents. Must be able to work non-school days. Must attend monthly site meetings Other duties as assigned by the site supervisor. Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently. Physical factors: Frequent standing, walking, swimming, lifting waist to chest; lifting below waist; carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, twisting/pivoting, reaching, simple grasp, firm grasp, fine manipulation; feeling, talking, hearing & visual accommodation, ability to tolerate frequent bending and lifting. Exposure to weather, daily, when supervising children outdoors, ability to walk two (2) miles on uneven terrain and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Physically capable of meeting all performance responsibilities required with students. The primary intent of this position is to support specific child(ren) when needed in the School Age Care program. If the child(ren) are no longer in the program, this position may be eliminated.
