Principal Frontend / UI Software Engineer At Bitscopic, we bring high definition to patient data, delivering actionable insights for clinicians and empowering them with the knowledge to make better decisions. We are seeking a seasoned frontend / User Interface (UI) Engineer with sharp technical and design skills to develop and deliver intuitive, clean, and innovative products in healthcare analytics, bioinformatics, and infectious disease tracking. This is a remote position where you can work from anywhere, as we are a geographically distributed company. Applicants need to be from the U.S. or Canada. You will have end-to-end ownership of the user interface for multiple products, working closely with clinical SMEs to create fully functional and intuitive UI features. Collaboration with the engineering team for integration and other aspects is essential. You will iteratively improve interactions and details to optimize user experience. Using your experience, you will have full ownership to deliver UI solutions, exercising independent judgment on the vision, strategy, and implementation of UX/UI. This small-company environment requires versatility, balancing priorities, and considering trade-offs. What you bring to the team Proven experience working with commercially used products. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or equivalent practical experience. In-depth experience (15+ years) with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and React. Experience implementing complex user interfaces. Experience with functionalities such as authentication, security, error logging, usage tracking, and cookie management. Experience designing accessible interfaces. Experience troubleshooting production issues. Excellent communication skills across all user levels, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, proactivity, and end-to-end ownership. Successful track record with large scope projects (e.g., high user volume, data complexity). Ability to start with incomplete requirements and drive their refinement. What you will do Collaborate with customers, SMEs, and project managers to refine requirements. Partner with UI and back-end engineers to implement versatile front-end solutions. Manage your time effectively, working independently and within teams. Launch, iterate, and improve products, providing front-end expertise. Design and develop user-facing product interfaces.
