As the Senior Commodity Manager , Electro-Mechanical & Battery, you will lead the enhancement, implementation, and management of global commodity strategies to provide Boston Dynamics with optimal cost, quality, and supply assurance for assigned commodities.

To thrive in this role, you must possess the ability to operate independently, understand and articulate tradeoffs, influence business decisions, and drive satisfactory results while maintaining adaptability in an ever-changing environment.
As needed, you will be responsible for all NPI phases of sourcing, which includes identification, validation, cost negotiation, creating competitive environments, as well as generating and negotiating contracts to ensure seamless availability of products to support company objectives.

Key Responsibilities: Design and implement effective commodity strategies and right-sized supplier base Ensure supplier and supply readiness to support low volume, highly complex commodities and build the supplier capacity to grow as we add more products and increase sales of these products Negotiate contracts, pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQ’s) and economic order quantity (EOQ’s) with suppliers, CM’s, ODM’s and JDM’s Drive total cost reduction through value engineering, re-sourcing, lead time reduction Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to identify supply risks and cost opportunities related to product design Conduct site assessments, audits, and oversee qualifications Partner with the Engineering function to drive cost and lead time improvements Lead supplier identification, assessment, qualification and selection- Execute RFPs, and influence new business award decisions Desired skills: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. 10 + years of progressive experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, and strategic procurement. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. Highly skilled in strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) and complex contract negotiation. Strong adaptability and change management abilities, ability to prioritize effectively. Experience creating and leading commodity strategies for complicated Actuators, Battery assemblies, Seasoned understanding of highly complex commodities and managing EOL’s, and long leads Ability to take risks, negotiate deals, manage expectations, and help create a disciplined development process Experience collaborating with suppliers from the executive level to the operational level, supplier relationship management (SRM) Ability to drive results within a cross-functional, highly collaborative, and fast-paced environment Build solid business cases to drive trade-offs, prioritize cost reduction opportunities Travel and Onsite Requirements Ability to travel up to 25-30% of the time domestically and internationally We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
