Coordinator Of Regulatory Affairs

The Coordinator of Regulatory Affairs assists with ensuring compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards including the Joint Commission (TJC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other regulatory agencies for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) healthcare facilities including CHOC Orange and CHOC at Mission Hospital. Actively coordinates regulatory and licensure activities including survey preparation and readiness assessments, ensuring adherence to licensing requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in healthcare laws and regulations, and supporting the organization's adherence to compliance requirements. Assists with developing and tracking action plans in response to regulatory deficiencies and mock surveys, helps educate the organization on regulatory and accreditation issues, and works closely with various departments to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote regulatory compliance and enhance patient safety. Pay Range: Minimum $45.72 Midpoint $60.58 Maximum $75.43 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements. Experience: Required: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in regulatory affairs. Preferred: Five (5) years of experience in regulatory affairs. Education: Required: Bachelors degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required. Preferred: Master's degree in nursing or related field. Training: Required: Obtained training in healthcare regulatory and licensing. Preferred: Background in Human Factors Engineering. Specialized Skills: Required: Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable policies. Proficiency in using regulatory software and databases and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including CMS, the Joint Commission, CDPH, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability). Licensure: Required: Registered Nurse-California (RN) - Board of Reg Nursing, Certification Professional (HACP) certificate within six months of hire.
