Job Summary This Research Scientist performs studies supporting chemical characterization of materials to ensure safety and biocompatibility of materials for medical devices. Responsibilities include identification and quantitation of chemical compounds using advanced instrumentation, as well as analytical method development and validation for medical device materials. Salary Range:

$80,000 - $100,000 Additional Compensation:

Eligible for a bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary (if applicable) Final pay will depend on experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Conduct evaluations of drug containers and medical device materials, studying extractable/leachable compounds. Analyze trace organic compounds in medical device materials using chromatography and mass spectrometry. Perform elemental analysis using ICP/MS. Design studies, write protocols, and prepare reports. Work with samples including human blood, following safety protocols. Support laboratory operations, calibrations, and supplies management. Contribute to analytical method development and review. Operate and maintain ICP/MS and chromatography instrumentation. Review laboratory documentation and results. Collaborate with colleagues and provide technical support. Requirements

Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and advanced instrumentation. 5-10 years of experience with analytical tools in medical device or pharmaceutical development. Experience with ICP/MS, GC, LC, and mass spectrometry data processing. Proven ability to design, execute, and complete scientific studies, including validation. Excellent communication skills. Experience in FDA-regulated environments (GMP/GLP/GDP). Critical thinking skills for data analysis and interpretation. Advanced degree in chemistry required; PhD preferred, or Master’s with relevant experience. Additional Information
