Position Summary

The Director, Private Wealth Advisory will lead a team of Wealth Management professionals within a specific, local market. The role primarily focuses on three key areas:

Identify and generate new business opportunities with both existing and prospective clients through a robust growth program.

Ensure client satisfaction and retention by delivering top-tier service and comprehensive wealth management solutions.

Develop, train, and mentor team members to promote career growth and professional development, fostering relationship-based skills to deepen client relationships.

The Director will collaborate closely with Wealth Management senior leadership to support regional and company-wide growth initiatives, emphasizing new client acquisition and existing client relationship management. This role also involves overseeing associates responsible for assessing financial opportunities aligned with private wealth management clients and involving other lines of business as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Drive new business development efforts within a designated market and lead the local Wealth Advisory team to meet revenue targets.

Coordinate and deliver wealth management services, including investment management, financial planning, trust administration, estate planning, and tax planning.

Create and implement sustainable new business development programs focused on organic growth.

Support and guide the team, reviewing proposals and presentations for new client opportunities.

Manage team delivery of wealth management services to ensure service excellence and client retention.

Motivate, develop, and coach team members, supporting their technical knowledge and relationship management skills, and fostering career growth through training and individual career planning.

Handle managerial responsibilities such as staffing, performance reviews, promotions, and salary recommendations.

Develop and lead market-specific and company-wide business development initiatives, including revenue-enhancing activities.

Collaborate with internal partners to identify new opportunities and expand existing client relationships.

Develop tailored investment programs and comprehensive financial plans, partnering with investment and financial planning teams.

Coordinate with other business lines to enhance joint client relationships and identify growth opportunities.

Organize client recognition and prospecting events, participate in community activities, and support local partnerships to raise brand awareness.

Ensure compliance with all Bank and Wealth Management policies, procedures, and regulations.

Managing Director, Private Wealth Advisory Responsibilities

All Director responsibilities, plus:

Serve as a coach and mentor to other Wealth Advisory Directors.

Represent Wealth Advisory on cross-functional teams and assist with strategic development.

Evaluate client base for optimal alignment and adjust as needed.

Conduct risk analyses for assigned books of business to improve client retention and identify new opportunities.

Manage high-growth market needs as directed by senior leadership.

Manage a budget over $xxxxx.

Education & Experience Knowledge of:

Strong sales and client service skills

Effective communication skills

Proven sales success including prospecting, profiling, overcoming objections, negotiation, team selling, closing, and referrals

Wealth management concepts such as investments, financial planning, retirement, estate, insurance, and tax planning

Relationship management and team building skills

Ability to:

Make strategic and independent decisions benefiting the team

Analyze business periodicals, journals, procedures, and regulations

Solve complex problems involving technical concepts

Education & Training:

Four-year college degree

7+ years of Wealth Management/Financial Advisory experience; prior leadership preferred

Professional designations such as CFP, CFA, CPA, CTFA, MBA preferred

Experience with wealth management solutions including investments, banking, trust, financial and estate planning, retirement, insurance, and tax strategies

Ongoing professional development

3+ years of private wealth advisory team leadership

Proven growth of client base and exceeding revenue targets
