This role will be based in NYC.
Reporting directly to the EVP & CFO US Front Line Label Group, the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, US Front Line Label Group, will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, overseeing financial planning and analysis, and providing leadership to the centralized label finance organization serving Sony Music's US Front Line Label Group, including Columbia Records, RCA Records, Epic Records, Arista Records, Sony Music Nashville, Provident Music Group, and Ultra Records. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of the music industry, exceptional financial acumen, and proven leadership skills.
What you'll do :
Collaborate with label finance leads to manage the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across US Front Line labels, supporting business operations and informing senior management decisions.
Partner with Global Finance to align label finance processes with corporate reporting standards, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance.
Manage and refine artist project P&L reporting to adapt to industry, business model, financial system, and accounting changes.
Conduct deal analysis for artist signings, renegotiations, investments, and acquisitions to support label objectives.
Oversee budgets and forecasts for US Front Line label overhead costs, especially sensitive line items.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop and implement financial strategies for long-term growth and profitability.
Drive process improvements within financial planning & analysis to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Who you are :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the music or entertainment industry.
Strong understanding of financial principles and planning & analysis, preferably within a record label or music publishing environment.
Leadership experience with mentoring and developing large teams.
Proven track record in developing financial strategies to enhance revenue, reduce costs, and improve profits.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
