What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Perform DRG validation and quality audits on claims, ensuring compliance with medical and reimbursement policies - Utilize expert clinical knowledge to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and ensure proper coding practices - Review and analyze facility and professional claims in alignment with CMS guidelines and organizational policies - Identify billing trends and potential recoveries, providing analytical data to support audit processes - Maintain daily case review assignments with an emphasis on quality in a fast-paced environment
What is Required (Qualifications): - Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, with 3-5 years of related experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred - 5+ years of experience in a DRG validation role, including auditing and quality assurance - Certification as an Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or similar coding credentials - Thorough knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and relevant billing codes - Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Nursing license is preferred - Excellent project management skills and experience - Familiarity with the regulatory environment for financial services - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at various organizational levels - Proven ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively
