Position Overview
EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. (EA) is seeking a Mid-Level Geophysicist to join our dynamic team. This role supports Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) projects and other geophysical investigations. The successful candidate will work with conventional and advanced geophysical sensors to collect, process, and analyze data, contribute to technical approaches, oversee field teams, and support project planning and reporting. This position offers professional growth, travel opportunities, and collaboration with a dedicated and skilled team across EA's offices. This geophysicist position will work closely with the Senior and QC Geophysicist and Project Managers located in various office locations.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing technical approaches for geophysical investigation and remediation on MMRP proposals and projects. Conduct and supervise data collection using conventional and advanced geophysical sensors (e.g., EM61, APEX, UltraTEM). Oversee and mentor field teams during geophysical surveys, ensuring quality data acquisition and protocol adherence. Perform daily quality control (QC) tests on geophysical equipment, documenting results accurately. Process and analyze geophysical data using Geosoft Oasis Montaj and other relevant software. Review and QC geophysical data collected by field teams and subcontractors. Prepare technical reports and geophysical investigation plans. Conduct anomaly reacquisition using geophysical sensors and Real Time Kinematic GPS and other positioning equipment. Perform site visits to collect data and assist in developing technical approaches. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including EM 200-1-15 IGD and the MR QAPP Toolkits. Collaborate with project managers and other technical staff to meet project objectives and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a closely related technical field. 1 to 5 years of geophysics experience, preferably with at least 2 years in MMRP or similar investigations. Proficiency with geophysical data acquisition, processing, and analysis, particularly electromagnetic and magnetic sensors. Familiarity with RTK-GPS and Robotic Total Stations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and independently. Willingness to travel to project sites for extended periods.
Desired Qualifications
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Experience with Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) methods and equipment. Familiarity with Geosoft's Oasis Montaj and Visual Sampling Plan (VSP) software. Knowledge of MMRP processes, including remedial investigation and removal actions. Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR certifications.
Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Pay Range
$75,000—$90,000 USD
The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary.
