Position Summary:
The Chief Engineer oversees the proper operation, maintenance, service, and repair of all hotel equipment, supporting guest satisfaction, cost management, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and maximize the maintenance team's potential, balancing operations, guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and owner expectations.
Represent the engineering department in daily HOD meetings.
Plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise engineering staff.
Respond promptly to guest maintenance needs, ensuring professional and courteous service.
Install and maintain HVAC, DG Sets, Water treatment, Fire Safety systems, and related equipment.
Maintain accurate records of all plant and equipment repairs and services.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of all plant and mechanical rooms.
Conduct daily and weekly property inspections.
Maintain property, grounds, and work areas to standard, ensuring safety compliance.
Manage inventory levels for equipment and supplies.
Train staff on supplies, inventory, maintenance, and procurement procedures.
Monitor and test emergency and security systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, and baggage scanners.
Develop and oversee emergency and energy conservation programs.
Ensure staff adhere to grooming, uniform, and hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience or 3 years supervisory experience in a hotel environment.
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
