Texell Credit Union is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead and develop staff by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure team success. This individual must have a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate. This position works closely with and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The role is responsible for the essential functions listed below and will assist business units on strategy, tactics, and execution necessary to carry out organizational goals, priorities, and objectives.
As the Vice President of Finance, you will:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Hire, train, direct and evaluate employee performance within the department. Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and profitability by leveraging analytical tools to provide innovative financial solutions. Coordinate and serve as a member of the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO). Responsible for meeting minutes, packet creation, changes to product pricing, present revenue and risk mitigation opportunities. Manage interest rate risk and ensure adequate liquidity in accordance with state and federal regulation, strategic objectives, and board policies. Serve as investment portfolio manager, which includes investment analysis, purchase and sell recommendations, ensure compliant investment reporting and accounting, and perform broker/safekeeping due diligence. Manage loan participation purchases and sale transactions, partner due diligence, production of monthly internal and external reports. Supervise all payment related functions, including ACH, wires, and card services. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the services offered remain competitive and compliant with regulatory requirements. Oversee the development and coordination of the annual operating budget in collaboration with senior leadership. Manage special projects, including regular updates, coordination, and timely implementation.
We need you to have:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably at a financial institution. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or equivalent Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, ALM, loan participations, investments, and payments. Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience fostering team development and collaboration. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information. Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, while managing and meeting multiple deadlines.
