1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Lucid is seeking a highly qualified, complex commercial litigation attorney to join its legal team as Managing Counsel- Litigation. The Managing Counsel of Litigation will manage a wide range of litigation and pre-litigation matters. The attorney is expected to have significant experience with complex commercial litigation, temporary restraining orders, and attorney demand letters. The person will be the primary point person on handling supplier and vendor disputes and should also have experience in, or be interested in learning, employment litigation and bankruptcy litigation. The person will also supervise the Company’s eDiscovery and legal holds processes. Within the Company, the Managing Counsel of Litigation will work in close partnership with cross-functional teams to handle, manage, and resolve litigation. The role will work closely with numerous stakeholders across the legal function. This is a mid-level role, and the person is expected to have a strong foundation in complex commercial litigation. Responsibilities include drafting motions, briefs, and talking points; taking and defending depositions; oral arguments; overseeing and managing complex commercial litigation matters; partnering with Supply Chain and Commercial teams on supplier disputes; analyzing commercial contracts and responding to attorney demand letters; functioning as generalist and litigation counsel; managing outside counsel; coordinating with insurance carriers; supporting development of legal service processes and metrics; maintaining knowledge of litigation trends related to the EV industry; and collaborating on general legal projects and initiatives. Minimum requirements include 7 years of general litigation experience with significant complex commercial litigation experience, strong writing skills, experience managing discovery, AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred, experience in State and Federal Court, excellent communication skills, practical business judgment, ability to work independently and manage projects, law degree from ABA-accredited institution, and California bar license or ability to register as California Registered In-House Counsel. Preferred requirements include at least 1 year of in-house experience, experience supporting supply chain disputes including international disputes, employment and bankruptcy litigation experience, and experience building eDiscovery teams and processes.
