Manager of Infection Prevention (RN) FT Days
The Manager of Infection Prevention oversees the Infection Control Programs, including staff training and education on infection control practices. In collaboration with Occupational Health, ensures all healthcare workers (employees, volunteers, interns, physicians, and contracted workers) undergo infectious disease screening upon employment per Federal, State, and Hospital regulations. Responsibilities: Develops and maintains Infection Prevention Programs per credentialing agencies and State/Federal regulations. • Communicates infection control expertise to hospital administrators and staff. • Manages the Infection Prevention Program and Committee, ensuring timely communication of updates, trends, and regulatory changes. • Implements the Infection Prevention Program through surveillance, data collection, reporting, and compliance with state laws. • Serves as an active member of Infection Prevention, Environment of Care, and Kent Unit at Butler Quality Committees. • Participates in staff meetings, in-services, continuing education, and mandatory training. • Demonstrates knowledge of psychiatric nursing standards, hospital policies, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. • Maintains professionalism, ethical judgment, attendance, and crisis response skills. • Ensures adherence to infection control policies, risk management, and performance improvement activities. • Provides ongoing infection control education and training for staff, including standard precautions and respiratory hygiene. • Ensures proper use of personal protective equipment and collaborates with housekeeping on infection control measures. • Monitors safe handling of sharps and ensures compliance with safety protocols. • Collaborates with Occupational Health on immunizations, health screenings, and infection prevention programs for employees, interns, volunteers, and contracted workers. • Participates in infectious disease planning to maintain staff competency in infection control. Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a minimum of five year’s job-related experience or equivalent is preferred. Management and/or Infection Prevention Experience preferred RI State Licensure is also required. Care New England Health System (CNE)
