Senior Engineering Manager – Hydrology & Drainage – Transportation Infrastructure Our Parsons Seattle office is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager to oversee and lead our hydrology and drainage practice supporting transportation projects in the Pacific Northwest and some US National projects. This role involves leading drainage designs for road, highway, rail, and transit projects primarily in the US West. You will act as the primary interface with internal design teams and lead all drainage aspects of projects with clients and JV partners on both conventional and design/build projects. You will be a key member of our Road/Highway Practice for California, reporting to senior management. Projects include urban highway design, highway rehabilitation, railroad grade separation, construction of bypass and auxiliary lanes, lane widening, reconfiguration of street interchanges, and rail and transit projects. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing drainage design elements such as hydrologic analysis, inlet and storm sewer design, ditch and channel design, cross drain and basin design, water quality analysis, outfall design, and drainage facilities. You should have experience in preparing plans, stormwater plans, permit applications, drainage criteria documentation, and reports. Responsibilities:
Function as Engineering Drainage Design Manager on various projects, overseeing the work of the team. Lead engineers and design personnel, fostering technical excellence and growth. Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analyses. Ensure design compliance with all codes and regulations, providing PE seal and signature when required. Assist with budget estimates and staffing requirements. Additional Responsibilities:
Strong background with WSDOT design-build work. Qualifications as Drainage Design Engineer of Record for WSDOT projects. Vision for developing a premier drainage engineering team. Willingness to mentor and teach junior engineers. Requirements:
4-year degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 15-20+ years of water resources engineering experience, especially in transportation drainage design. PE registration is required. WSDOT project experience is essential. Ability to lead and oversee design processes. Security Clearance Requirement:
