Education Coordinator Location: Juneau Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade(s): 10-11 ($33.29-$36.61+ DOE) Purpose:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and curricula. Supports teaching staff through supervision, coaching, training, and monitoring to promote school readiness and child outcomes. Coordinates work plans and delivery of Education Services according to Head Start Program Performance Standards. Ensures accurate data entry and reporting. Serves on the Head Start Management Team and builds partnerships with other agencies. Essential Functions:

Analyze program guidelines, assist in policy development, write and submit grant applications, maintain confidential data, ensure curriculum and assessments are appropriately used, integrate Indigenous language and culture into the curriculum, support culturally relevant activities, collaborate with families and community, monitor classroom quality and staff development, supervise up to 3 Lead Teachers, and other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication and computer skills, ability to interpret complex information, manage priorities, handle emotionally charged situations respectfully, maintain certifications, uphold confidentiality, demonstrate honesty and reliability, respect privacy, attend trainings, adhere to ethical standards, and possess knowledge of child development and Indigenous cultures. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, experience with Alaska Native cultures, early education teaching experience, must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree, current First Aid/CPR, two years’ experience in a similar role, experience in adult learning and staff supervision. Physical Requirements:

Mostly sedentary work in an office setting, with occasional classroom activity requiring kneeling, bending, and assisting children. Must pass physical and TB screening. Work Environment:

Travel required to sites via small aircraft, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Exposure to hazardous materials may occur at some sites.
