Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) promotes equity, helps people gain prosperity, and builds a connected community for all ages. Since 1950, MFS has supported individuals and families in overcoming poverty, inequity, and social isolation. Each year, we serve over 24,000 children, families, and older adults across the Portland metro area — 70% of whom identify as BIPOC — through programs rooted in: · Early Childhood Development & Youth Success · Economic Well-Being · Community-Based Health & Wellness MFS is a data-informed, community-guided, and equity-driven agency with a $14M annual budget, 250+ staff, 2,000 volunteers, and 400+ partners. In close collaboration with the Board and Executive Team, the CEO leads with a strong focus on community and donor relationships, strategic planning, and organizational development. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for overall strategy, operational effectiveness, and a values-driven culture that supports staff, participants, and partners. Key Responsibilities Include:Strategic Leadership & Impact · Lead vision and strategy in partnership with the Board and Chief Strategy Officer · Champion innovation, equity, and measurable outcomes · Ensure fiscal sustainability and diversified funding Community Engagement & Advocacy · Act as the public ambassador for MFS · Build strong relationships with donors, partners, and government leaders · Advance policies rooted in community voice and justice Inclusive Culture & Team Development · Foster a welcoming, trauma-informed, and equity-centered workplace · Mentor the Executive Team and model collaborative leadership · Strengthen board engagement and agency-wide governance Ready to Apply? Hiring salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 annually dependent upon relevant experience. Full benefits package is available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
