This role is pivotal to CellPoint Digital’s growth and reputation, ensuring we consistently deliver world-class software solutions to the highest professional standards. Why This Role Matters & How You Will You Make An Impact: The Head of Software Engineering is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the end-to-end software development lifecycle. You will lead a global, remote, and highly dispersed engineering team, ensuring consistency in leadership, technical direction, and tactical execution. Your ability to drive delivery in a complex, multi-platform environment will directly impact client onboarding, market delivery, and our competitive position. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring deep payments domain expertise, a proven track record in building high-performing engineering teams, and the ability to inspire a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence across time zones. Key Responsibilities & Skills You will have Fine-tuned 1. Global Team Leadership Lead and inspire a global software engineering organisation, providing clarity, consistency, and a shared sense of purpose. Build and maintain a culture of One Team, championing CellPoint Digital’s values and professional standards across geographies. Attract, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring the team has the skills and capacity to deliver on current and future business needs. 2. Strategic Software Engineering Direction Define and implement a comprehensive engineering strategy aligned with CellPoint Digital’s business priorities and product roadmap. Drive the evolution of our hybrid technology stack, ensuring scalability, performance, and flexibility for future growth. 3. Operational & Tactical Execution Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and with uncompromising quality. Partner with technical leads and project managers to resolve blockers, proactively manage risks, and ensure seamless execution. 4. Hands-On Technical Leadership Act as a technical authority, providing architectural oversight and hands-on guidance where required. Foster the adoption of best practices, modern engineering methodologies, and secure coding standards. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Quality Assurance, Client Success, and other business functions to align engineering priorities with broader business goals. Ensure the engineering team supports timely client onboarding, platform adoption, and product launches. 6. Technology Innovation and Trends Stay ahead of emerging technologies, industry shifts, and competitor capabilities in the payments and fintech domain. Drive innovation within the engineering organisation, identifying opportunities to enhance the Velocity platform and hybrid tech stack. 7. Resource Planning and Global Capacity Management Proactively plan and allocate resources across a global, remote workforce, balancing delivery demands with capability development. Address resource constraints quickly, optimising productivity while maintaining quality. 8. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Champion quality assurance processes and metrics, ensuring all releases meet enterprise-grade stability and performance benchmarks. Build a culture of continuous improvement, raising the bar in engineering productivity, quality, and delivery predictability.
