Job Title: IT Integration Architect - Azure Location: Hybrid - Boston, MA (3 days/week onsite) Employment Type: W2 Contract Only Pay Rate: $83.91/hour (W2 only) Duration: 6 Months (Strong potential for extension) Work Hours: 40 hours/week, with occasional after-hours on-call support Background/References: Required Introduction TPG is seeking an experienced IT Integration Architect to support a prominent higher education institution's digital transformation and systems modernization efforts. This role will lead the architecture and implementation of seamless integration solutions between mission-critical systems, ensuring secure, scalable, and future-proof IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings strong Azure Cloud expertise, deep knowledge of higher education IT ecosystems, and experience working across multiple business units such as academic administration, HR, student services, and finance.
This hybrid role is based in Boston, MA, requiring three days a week onsite at a centrally located campus IT headquarters. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred) 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on integration architecture 3+ years working in higher education environments Expertise in Azure Cloud, including:
Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus
Experience designing and managing REST APIs, SOAP web services, and event-driven architectures Familiarity with higher ed systems such as Banner, Workday, Canvas, Salesforce, ServiceNow Experience with iPaaS platforms, ETL pipelines, middleware, and data integration strategies Strong grasp of identity and access management: Azure AD, SAML, OAuth Knowledge of data governance and security practices (FERPA, GDPR) Effective communicator capable of translating technical solutions for diverse stakeholders Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Azure certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Integration and Developer Associate Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and modern data lakes Experience with Ellucian Ethos, Informatica, Kafka, or similar platforms Exposure to containerization and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with Agile methodologies and project collaboration tools Awareness of student success analytics and data accessibility standards Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Architect and implement enterprise integration solutions for systems including SIS, LMS, ERP, and CRM platforms Develop scalable and maintainable integration frameworks and API strategies using Azure Cloud tools Lead technical planning, create system diagrams, and document integration roadmaps Collaborate with university stakeholders to gather business requirements and align technical strategies Monitor and troubleshoot system integrations, ensuring high availability and performance Ensure compliance with academic data privacy regulations and institutional governance policies Mentor and support internal development teams on integration standards and best practices Drive innovation through proof of concepts, emerging tech adoption, and system modernization Why You'll Want This Role
