RTX BBN Technologies is looking for a

Senior Principal Cyber Engineer

that is a recognized researcher and has experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering or Science, RF Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Modeling and Simulation, and/or Physics. This role will have the opportunity to pursue external funding from government research agencies (e.g. DARPA, IARPA, DoD Service Labs) to help further U.S. National Security Objectives and betterment of society. This role will have the opportunity to take on a leadership role within BBN's Science Development Program.

What You Will Do

Lead an exceptional team while building technologies to support Cyber/EW operations.

Build and advance a Cyber/EW-related research area for BBN having measurable impact on business.

Articulate and execute a vision and tactical direction for BBN and influencing the same across RTX.

Lead cross-functional teams performing business development, proposal preparation, and execution.

Hire and develop top-notch personnel to round out the team you will grow and lead.

Lead projects, as well as grow your team of collaborators and implementors.

Distinguish BBN and yourself to customers by leading and performing cutting edge research.

Travel up to 15%.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) specifically in Mathematics, Computer Science, or relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Advanced Degrees would require a minimum 7 years of experience, or PhD and a minimum of 5 years of experience. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Active and transferable Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required on day one.

A proven track record in writing and winning competitive R&D efforts for government funded projects.

Experience in technical leadership of cybersecurity-focused R&D teams.

Qualifications We Prefer

Working experience on classified government funded research programs.

Ability to provide visionary technical leadership and desire to grow and lead a group to achieve that vision.

Proficient in relevant programming languages and development tools to support the research's software/hardware requirements.

Experience with reverse engineering, binary analysis and disassemblers.

Relevant publications at conferences and in journals.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Excellent mentor and coach.

The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
