Job Description
Linux Systems Administrators -We have an immediate opening on one of our premier programs. Seeking candidates who are highly motivated to put their knowledge into play developing, deploying and maintaining advanced, complex operational networks. Seeking mid-level talent for this hybrid position in the Lorton, VA area. This is a full-time role. 10% travel is required every 3 months to attend Program Increment (PI) planning.
What You'll Be Doing: Modernizing operational mission systems ensuring mission effectiveness, reliability, and cybersecurity Designing and authoring software application upgrades from a high level, non-specific set of concepts provided by the government Producing specifications and design documentation including: Process flow, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, physical architecture, system and web service interface specifications, data dictionary, data model Creating project work estimates Implementing solutions and identifying operational or management issues Systems designing, policy development, and database development and management, and user interface development Utilizing available Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software to the maximum extent practicable in designing software applications, avoiding implementation of a proprietary system Duties involved:
Operating System upgrades and patches to ensure mission system readiness and cyber security Transition, modernize, and sustain the main code base of the application Collaborate to implement new features, enhance existing functionality, and address any technical debt to ensure the application meets evolving mission requirements Transition activities to include requirement reviews and assessments, backlog reviews, documentation review, development environment and tooling standup Support demonstrations at sprint and product increment reviews Qualifications

Active Secret, minimum Education:
Four (4) year college degree in software development or computer science In lieu of education, ten (10) years of experience of software development for systems in a production environment. Experience to include:
Five (5) years' experience of systems administration in a production environment Experience with system sustainment and maintenance; operating system and application patching and upgrades Must be familiar with a variety of scripts, programming languages, and operating systems (see preferred skills below Preferred Skills:
Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) Ansible Gitlab (repose, merging) PowerShell Bash Scripting Python
