The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA is looking for a
Manager, Data Operations
to join our Denver/hybrid team.
The Manager, Data Operations is responsible for managing and mentoring analysts who lead the production of nationally recognized health care survey projects, along with participating in the strategic planning of timelines and project/product enhancements. They also work closely with the Data Product Owners and other areas throughout the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) to support ongoing data product initiatives.
Requirements
Essential Functions
Lead team to complete assigned projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency. Own the tasks involved in the project and delegate, accordingly, including but not limited to building and reviewing project timelines and holding the team accountable to deadlines and milestones. Provide mentorship to analysts leading projects/surveys. Participate in reviews of survey materials with applicable subject matter experts (SMEs). Communicate regularly with project and organization stakeholders regarding deliverables, timelines, risks, issues, and performance indicators are understood by all parties. Act as a liaison among staff, company, customers, and vendors; and address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project life cycle. Model the highest standards of ethical behavior in an honest, ethical, and professional way and set an example for others to follow. Lead project/product enhancement conversations and guide execution of approved improvements. Be a catalyst for positive change in the department. Identify potential pitfalls, develop strategies, and communication plans around change management. Manage day-to-day work assignments, data editing, data verification, and data entry, as necessary. Develop training plans for new employees with responsibility for assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring adequate training. Attend and assist with the management of MGMA conferences, as needed. Maintain the confidentiality of all survey data. Contribute to the overall culture and leadership of the Data Solutions department through collaboration with other product leaders. Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization. Supervisory duties
Direct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals, appraising performance, and recognizing achievements; addressing performance or behavioral issues; and resolving employee concerns. Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA's mission, vision, and values. Considerable knowledge of health care organizations and practices. Substantial knowledge of administration procedures, including awareness of project management techniques. Detailed knowledge of major database systems. In-depth knowledge of survey design, sampling, evaluation, and assessment. Demonstrated understanding of descriptive statistics. Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrate strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills. Must have the ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff. Ability to establish priorities and to coordinate the work activities of department staff members. Ability to identify problems, research alternatives, and achieve solutions. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from all organizational levels. Ability to work independently and to exercise judgement and creativity. Experience
Five (5) or more years of experience in health care or business administration, survey research or related field is required. Experience in project design and/or management is preferred. Education
Bachelor's Degree in Health or Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required. Master's Degree in any of the above fields is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
