FloQast
Floqast is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and scale our data platforms based on MongoDB Atlas. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of our critical data systems, supporting both operational and analytical workloads.

What You'll Do
Database Management & Administration: Design, deploy, and maintain production and non-production environments for MongoDB Atlas. Ensure database availability, security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery. Monitor, manage, and optimize database resource utilization and storage costs. Performance Tuning & Optimization: Conduct query performance analysis and optimize slow-running queries across all platforms. Configure and fine-tune indexes, partitions, and data models for efficient performance. Security & Compliance: Implement robust database access controls, encryption, and auditing. Ensure compliance with data governance and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2). Automation & Infrastructure: Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., in Python, Shell, or Terraform) for database provisioning, backups, monitoring, and alerting. Work closely with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for data changes. Collaboration & Support: Partner with data engineers, analysts, and developers to understand data requirements and provide best-practice recommendations. Provide on-call support for production incidents and lead root cause analysis. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation of schemas, configurations, and operational procedures. Generate reports on database usage, growth trends, and performance KPIs. What You'll Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or Data Engineer, with a strong focus on database operations and performance. At least 6+ years of hands-on experience specifically as a MongoDB DBA in a production environment, with a proven track record on large-scale, high-traffic systems. Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters. 3+ years hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas. Proficient in writing and optimizing complex queries (SQL, NoSQL). Extensive experience with schema design and data modeling. Familiarity with Snowflake and ClickHouse is a plus. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform), monitoring tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus), and version control (e.g., Git). Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, or similar. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in MongoDB, Snowflake, or other database technologies. Experience with Kubernetes, cloud data orchestration tools. Exposure to real-time analytics, data lakes, and streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka). Experience with ERPs like NetSuites, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

The base pay range for this position is $144,000 - $216,000. Compensation is not limited to base salary. FloQast values our Total Rewards, and offers a competitive and elaborate Benefits Package including, but not limited to, Medical, Dental, Vision, Family Forming benefits, Life & Disability Insurance, and Unlimited Vacation. FloQast reserves the right to amend, change, alter, and revise pay ranges and benefits offerings at any time.
