QUALIFICATIONS
:
High School graduate preferred. Class IV Boiler License, certification or willingness to obtain. State/FBI background clearance required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds and the building administrator: schedule work crew to maintain buildings in a clean, warm, attractive and functional order; conducting minor maintenance tasks; operating and caring for all tools and equipment used in the care of facilities; establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff, students and community groups.
Serve as a cooperative member of the custodial team. Know and observe safety procedures; maintain safe working conditions; comply with safety rules and regulations. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain hard floors. Vacuum, spot, and extract carpets. Clean and disinfect restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms. Replace hand soap and paper products, as needed. Collect and dispose of trash and refuse. Clean and sanitize lunchroom tables and seats. Set up and move lunch tables, as required. Clean and disinfect hand washing sinks and water fountains. Clean windows, glass, and mirrors. Remove graffiti, as required. High dust and clean air vents. Clean entryway doors, frames, and thresholds. Pick up litter around building exterior. Replace ceiling light bulbs, as needed. Perform minor repairs, replace HVAC filters, flush eye wash stations, as assigned. Clean garbage containers. Sweep, pressure-wash, remove snow and ice from exterior sidewalks and entryways, as needed. Move district furniture, as required. Observe security of buildings, doors, and windows; report material deficiencies, as needed. Assist with internal and external facility user group events, as needed. Assist Lead Custodian with deep cleaning custodial tasks, as required. Operate and maintain custodial equipment. Report malfunctions, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor and/or administrator.
REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated basic knowledge and skills of custodial work including facility maintenance and repair activities and willing to be tested thereon. Punctual and dependable, able to work well with others, have ability to perform heavy physical labor, able to lift 100 pounds (with assistance) occasionally and able to work effectively in tight quarters and at heights, from lifts and ladders. Must have a Class IV Boiler License, certification or willingness to obtain one. Maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License. Experience with computer operated building systems, i.e. keyless entrance, building computer operated controls, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, bell, clocks, and intercoms. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
