Job Title: Technical Project Manager - POS Systems

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager with expertise in Point of Sale (POS) systems to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of POS-related projects. This role requires a strong technical background, proven experience managing POS implementations or upgrades, and exceptional organizational and communication skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Project Management Lead end-to-end project lifecycle for POS system implementations, upgrades, and integrations. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Technical Leadership Collaborate with software engineers, hardware teams, and vendors to design and deploy POS solutions. Provide technical guidance during troubleshooting, testing, and deployment phases. Ensure system performance, scalability, and security standards are met.

Stakeholder Collaboration Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors. Gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and provide regular project updates.

Process & Compliance Ensure POS solutions adhere to PCI compliance and industry standards. Document processes, create training materials, and support change management initiatives.

Post-Implementation Support Oversee post-launch monitoring, support escalations, and continuous improvement efforts. Conduct project retrospectives to identify lessons learned and optimize future delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on POS systems (retail, hospitality, or food service). Strong understanding of POS hardware (terminals, printers, scanners) and software (transaction processing, inventory, payments). Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Trello) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). Knowledge of payment gateways, PCI DSS compliance, and integration with ERP or CRM systems. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. PMP, CSM, or similar certification is a plus. Preferred Skills

Experience managing multi-site POS rollouts. Familiarity with cloud-based POS solutions (e.g., Toast, Square, Client Aloha, Oracle Micros). Background in API integration and mobile payment technologies. Ability to train and mentor team members on POS systems.
