We are seeking a skilled Neonatologist Physician for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in California. This 60-day assignment begins on 09/01/2025 with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a NICU, handling complex cases including cleft palate and lip, birth defects, respiratory conditions, diaphragmatic hernias, genetic disorders, and high-risk infant follow-ups. The work schedule includes 12-hour in-house shifts and out-of-house call shifts, with the provider expected to work 5-10 shifts per month, ideally in consecutive days. Shifts will be from 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am, to be determined between the facility and provider.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Manage care in a NICU

Treat complex conditions including cleft palate and lip, birth defects, and respiratory conditions

Handle cases involving diaphragmatic hernias and genetic disorders

Participate in high-risk infant follow-up program

Manage care for infants of diabetic mothers

Perform necessary procedures and interventions

Utilize Epic EMR for patient management and record-keeping

Maintain a high standard of patient care and satisfaction

Collaborate with NICU staff and other healthcare professionals

Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Provide both in-house and out-of-house call coverage as scheduled


Additional Information:

Must be licensed to practice medicine in California

Proficiency in Epic EMR required

Experience in Level 3 NICU preferred

Flexibility to work consecutive shifts preferred
