Full-time Litigation Associate
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Associate with a strong background in commercial litigation to support our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial litigation matters
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Assist in case strategy development and implementation
- Participate in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
- Attend court hearings, trials, and arbitrations
- Manage document review and production processes
- Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Collaborate with partners and other associates on case management
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends
- Contribute to business development efforts and client relationships
- Mentor junior associates and paralegals
- Participate in firm committees and initiatives
Qualifications Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California state bar
- 4+ years of experience in commercial litigation
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
Preferred:
- Experience in a top-tier law firm or judicial clerkship
- Knowledge of e-discovery platforms and processes
- Familiarity with specific areas of commercial litigation (e.g., contract disputes, intellectual property, securities)
- Second language proficiency
