Description:
The City of Fishers is looking for dynamic
Swim Lesson Coordinators
to keep our aquatics programs running smoothly and safely. You’ll provide upbeat leadership and deck coordination when management isn’t on site, step in as a lifeguard when needed, and ensure swim classes start and end on time. You’ll also supervise pool activities, enforce safety policies, and keep accurate attendance records. If you’re organized, safety-focused, and thrive in a fast-paced aquatic environment — we’d love to have you on deck! Examples of Duties
Provide positive leadership and deck coordination in the absence of the Aquatics Manager and Assistant Aquatics Manager. Act as a backup lifeguard if necessary and supervise swimming activities and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Record and maintain class attendance records and ensure that classes begin and end on time. Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies. Provide excellent customer service to all patrons by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Communicate swimmer progress to parents and respond to participant or parent questions as needed. Ensure safety of patrons and be prepared to take charge in an emergency if necessary. Act as a first responder in the event of an emergency, providing immediate assistance, administering first aid or CPR as needed, and following proper emergency protocols to ensure member and staff safety. Report any
accidents/emergencies
immediately and complete accident reports as necessary. Attend mandatory meetings and coach development in-services as scheduled. Perform duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to earn swim instructor certification at hire. Certification testing will be provided. Current Lifeguard Certification including CPR/AED First Aid certification or ability to obtain within the first 30 days. Training will be provided. Ability to lead, motivate, and strain staff. Knowledge of problem solving and conflict resolution techniques and the ability to provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff. Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.
