Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to provide data analysis for financial reporting to the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Finance to support the phased roll-out of iFAMS across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
Position Responsibilities:
• Obtain and analyze data using advanced computerized models and algorithms.
• Identify and extrapolate patterns in data using appropriate analytical methods.
• Translate mathematical findings into visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) for business audiences.
• Present analytical insights to project managers and stakeholders, influencing business model decisions.
• Support data profiling, cleansing, and validation for iFAMS data migration and quality improvement.
• Assist with business intelligence report development, validation, and documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams on iFAMS deployment tasks, including:
• Data management and cleansing
• Conversion and cut-over readiness
• Test script development and defect tracking
• Development of data-driven artifacts (e.g., reports, readiness assessments, strategy documents)
• Contribute to the development of training materials, reference guides, and stakeholder-facing content.
• Ensure all outputs meet 508 compliance standards.
Requirements
Skills:
• Strong, demonstrated data analysis skills with proficiency in data modeling and algorithmic extrapolation.
• Ability to create and interpret visual data representations using tools such as:
• Power BI
• Tableau
• Pyramid Analytics (preferred)
• Knowledge of data validation, profiling, and cleansing best practices.
• Experience working with VA information systems and databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams within large-scale federal projects.
• Experience with documentation tools and practices that support testing, reporting, and configuration validation.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (required).
• Minimum
8 years
of experience performing data analysis in support of IT or financial management programs.
• Previous Veterans Health Administration (VHA) experience
• Prior experience supporting large federal deployments, especially within VA or other healthcare-related federal agencies.
• Exposure to business intelligence environments and large-scale data migration or transformation projects
