TITLE:
Head Custodian
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency desired Ability to read basic operating instructions Some custodial cleaning experience or the ability to be trained in these areas REPORTS TO:
Custodial Resources Coordinator/Principal
SUPERVISES:
N/A
JOB GOAL:
To perform tasks to assist in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform duties adequately and reasonably in agreement with principal/designee Able to work and get along with the entire school staff Sweep, mop, wax, dust, vacuum, and other general cleaning tasks in assigned area Scrub and disinfect toilets, doors, drinking fountains, urinals, and other fixtures daily using such materials as will keep them in a clean and sanitary condition Wash all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year Report immediately any damage to school property giving, whenever possible, the names of persons responsible Be on duty in the building when events are scheduled outside of regular school hours, if such is requested by the building principal Remain on the premises during school hours. Absence during school hours is only for just and sufficient causes and only with permission of the head custodian or in accordance with a schedule of work hours Keep the grass cut, shrubs trimmed and maintain outside of building(s) in a clean and safe manner Be on the job on time daily unless an emergency arises. Building principal will determine what is adequate and reasonable Do not have friends or family members visiting you on the job Take care of personal business before coming to work Do not report to work under the influence of alcohol, drugs, etc., (policy to be signed). You must take the next HIV and Drug Free workshop when announced Do not borrow school equipment, tools, etc., (take off premises) without principal's permission To perform other duties as assigned by the principal/designee Be able to perform supervisory duties in a professional manner
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform manual or physical labor which requires a certain amount of lifting. School Board may require doctor's physical to verify health condition. Employment may be terminated if employee is untruthful regarding physical health condition before being hired
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
12 Month Contract; Grade 8
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
