DC Commission On Human Rights

The DC Commission on Human Rights ("Commission") is an agency within the Office of Human Rights ("OHR") that adjudicates private sector discrimination complaints brought under the D.C. Human Rights Act. Although the Commission is within OHR, the Commission acts independent of OHR in order to adjudicate cases in an impartial manner. The Commission shall consist of 15 members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. The Commission members shall be residents of the District of Columbia who have a demonstrated background or interest in human rights. The Commission meets every other month; subcommittees meet as required to complete tasks. If you are interested in an appointment to this board, please complete the appointment application. A member of our team will contact you to discuss the opportunity.
