Job Summary The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution, and service of food for hospital patients, visitors, and staff. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, and training classes as assigned. Anticipates and meets customer needs, taking appropriate steps to rectify issues. Maintains cleanliness of work areas and sanitation of department equipment. Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude. Adheres to all HACCP standards. Alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, or product shortages. Actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction. Works in various cafeteria and kitchen positions, setting up and stocking food stations for meal service. Assembles meals and serves food and beverages to retail customers. Cleans stations, equipment, and floors at the end of each meal. Operates dish machines, trash compactors, and mops floors as required. Prepares additional food items for cafeteria operations. Regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by the manager. Assists with training of new employees as well as cross-training of fellow employees. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes. Licenses and Credentials: Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position). Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position). Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies.
