How you will make history here... Provide overall support to the Biscuit and Bakery Business Unit by providing Food Safety / Quality responsibilities as outlined further. Supervises the plant documentation systems, which includes the control of quality systems documents (policies, procedures, work instructions, recordkeeping) and formulas (Optiva, SAP and floor formulas). Manages the food safety inspection and corrective/preventive action programs. Supports commercialization activities for new products from special batch phase through initial production. Investigates plant non-conforming product incidents and consumer complaints, conducting root cause analysis and leading corrective action efforts. Coordinates HACCP / Food Safety Plan risk assessments and scheduled reviews. Provides direct supervision to QA Technician / Analyst team in support of structured product inspection programs, laboratory testing, environmental monitoring, and calibration activities. Principal Accountabilities (list in order of importance and indicate percentage of time spent on each) What you will do... 70% - Provide overall support to the Biscuit and Bakery Business Unit as outlined below: 1. Participate in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings, own mtg action items, collaborate cross-functionally with mtg representation to improve key operational metrics (SPQDC). 2. Manage documentation critical to quality systems, compliance, and formulation. 3. Support commercialization activities / new product development for the bakery. 4. Lead Food Safety continuous improvement efforts (complaint reduction, program reassessments, data collection systems, training). 5. Assess and disposition raw materials for suitability / shelf life testing. 6. Manage food safety inspection and corrective / preventive action programs. 7. Lead and coordinate other Food Safety / Quality program efforts such as SQF certification audits, facility verification / validation activities, HACCP / Food Safety Program, Raw Material Bulk Handling Systems, Food Security Improvements, etc. 8. Support sanitation program initiatives, environmental programs, cleaning verification & validation. 30% - Provide direct supervision to QA Technicians and Analyst team that support environmental microbiological monitoring program, laboratory testing activities, calibration program, structured product inspection programs, and allergen validation activities. Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience 4+ years in food industry, sanitation experience preferred Experience in the food industry plant environment with an understanding of manufacturing processes Practical knowledge and application of food safety principles (ex. Regulatory, PCQI, HACCP, SQF, GMPs, food microbiology) Practical knowledge and application of quality systems Strong technical acumen - ability to troubleshoot a problem, involve other stakeholders as necessary, and brainstorm potential root causes Strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Effective abilities in organizing and deductive thinking Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software, able to master other software Proficient knowledge of SPC Able to communicate at any organizational level Effective presentation skills Promotes engagement & diversity Ability to work effectively lead by example and coach others within a team-based high performing organization Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $89,900-$129,300. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
