Commission Appointment
The Commission shall advise the Mayor, the Council, the Director of the Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs, and the public on the views and needs of the Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the District of Columbia. The Commission shall consist of 15 public voting members appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council. Public members shall be appointed who have shown dedication to, and knowledge of, the needs of the Asian and Pacific Islander Community, and with due consideration for representation from established public, nonprofit, and volunteer community organizations concerned with low economic, education, and health indicators.
