Staffing Coordinator
The coordinator is responsible for managing and providing staffing solutions for understaffed units within TMC and TMC Systems, covering up to 20 units across both the main hospital and affiliated systems. This role involves utilizing the hospital's float pool to supply qualified nurses, patient care technicians, patient safety sitters, and unit clerks to patient care areas in need of support due to staff shortages. The coordinator ensures that all patient care areas are properly staffed to maintain high-quality care and patient safety. Arranges for nurses, patient care technicians, patient safety sitters, and unit clerks from the float pool to fill staffing gaps in patient care areas. Oversees staffing requirements and manage sick calls for all inpatient units. Works closely with nursing supervisors, department managers, and unit CNLs to address staffing gaps and ensures adequate coverage for all shifts. Assists in responding to last-minute staffing needs and urgent staffing requests, to ensure continuous patient care. Collaborates with hospital leadership to adjust staffing strategies based on patient volume and unit requirements. Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies, and standards. Performs related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience: One (1) year of patient care experience, preferably in a hospital setting and/or one (1) year of staffing experience. Licensure or Certification: None Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of clinical or staffing background Knowledge of patient care protocols and hospital operations. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage high-pressure situations and last-minute staffing needs. Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and teams. Must have knowledge of Excel and proficiency in using spreadsheets for data tracking and reporting.
