Provide lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants. Serve as a lactation-related clinical resource, educator, and mentor. Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients' lactation goals and issues. Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and promote the importance of breastfeeding. Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assists with their development. Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding. Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes. Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration: Certification specializing in Lactation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
