Mailroom Assistant
This position requires a positive, self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal communication skills, willingness to work in an environment requiring strong emphasis on providing superior customer service. The Mailroom Assistant will be required to: Demonstrate a caring and patient attitude, utilize conflict resolution skills and ensure that every effort is made to create satisfied students. Sort daily mail into student mailboxes, receive, log and accurately distribute packages, which include USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL packages and certified mail; Transport and deliver mail and packages to the Central Housing Office and appropriate residential facilities, input data into computerized system insuring accuracy. Licensed to operate a motor vehicle within the State of Florida. Physically must be able to ascend stairways if elevator is not available. Ability to push, lift, or move loads of at least 35 pounds. Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges between interior and exterior of the buildings. Visual ability to observe dangerous situations in the work area (such as wet floors) in order to redirect people to avoid injuries. This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check. The holder of this position is designated as a "Responsible Employee" pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University's Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.
