Complete day-to-day branch operations ensuring branch associates are providing consistent, high level quality service to our members. Ensure that proper procedures are followed, and all documentation and transactions are completed accurately. This key relationship building position must be able to precisely describe VyStar Credit Union's value proposition versus competitors and convey the importance of educating and proactively helping members with their financial goals. Work both individually and as a team to establish strong member relationships, provide financial wellness training to overall membership and general student population, and embody VyStar's brand promise of Do Good. Conduct effective/quality conversations with members/potential members in person/via phone to provide unbelievable member experiences; ask questions, listen carefully, and make appropriate product/service recommendations. Present products and services in a positive, professional and knowledgeable manner so members can make informed decisions. Works cooperatively in a team environment. Ability to balance between individual and team responsibilities while focusing on key business priorities. Verify personal identification to prevent fraudulent activity. Opens various types of accounts, including but not limited to: checking and savings (personal and business), money market, certificates of deposit, trust and IRA accounts. Responsible for check proofing, validating checks received each day, and remain compliant with all VyStar procedures for check holds. Perform/Document transactions in accordance with applicable federal, state and local statutes and regulations. Abides by VyStar policies and procedures. Perform routine account maintenance, changes to names, addresses, telephone numbers, and issuing or reordering debit, credit or replacement ATM cards. Responsible for handling personal and business account transactions, including but not limited to deposits, transfers, withdrawals, credit card cash advances, etc. Utilize each member interaction to strengthen/enhance member experience through quality conversations and relationship building. Ensure staff is delivering a high level of quality member service consistently. Maintain excellent service levels by inspiring a sense of urgency. Provide regulatory disclosures and information on new and other specific types of accounts, products, services and referrals. Exercise appropriate judgment and discretion within well-defined limits and works with relative independence to accomplish tasks. Perform other duties as assigned in assisting the branch with daily business such as: balancing of the ATMs, branch opening and/or closing, locating teller outages, etc. Provide additional services to members including but not limited to: wire transfers, safe deposit box services, fraud and forgery claims, credit and debit card disputes, etc. Resolves member problems independently and escalates more complex concerns. Develop/Implement strategy to deliver financial education training to students and faculty of their respective college/university. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. All employees and business units, as first line of defense, are expected to proactively help identify, assess, manage, and report risks within their domain of work. To enhance a healthy risk culture and support our growth for good pillar, employees will maintain vigilance in safeguarding our operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates. The Risk team serves as the second line of defense by providing risk oversight and credible challenge whereas the Audit team serves as the third line of defense by providing risk assurance. High School Diploma or GED is required. Must complete Notary Public training within twelve months of being hired to further assist branch staff and serve VyStar members. Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university/trade-school and actively attend class/in pursuit of post-secondary education. Previous experience in a sales and/or customer service position, community service, military service, asking questions, offering recommendations and making referrals is preferred. Preferred graduate of VyStar's Academy of Business High School Program. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must exhibit well-developed communication skills, have an outgoing personality, a strong desire to help people and have a congenial attitude in dealing with people. Must be professional in appearance and attitude Must be able to handle many tasks in a fast-paced environment Proficient use of the Internet and Microsoft Office products Must possess strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for sales are essential for success in this role May stand throughout entire shift in order to assist members or other staff.
