Jefferson Health System Seeks Chair for Department of Radiology

The Jefferson Health System is seeking a new Chair for the Department of Radiology at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital (JEPH) and Jefferson Montgomery Hospital (JEMH). This position represents an outstanding opportunity for a distinguished physician to provide strategic leadership, direction, and coordination for the clinical, teaching, and research components of the department, while working collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership to meet and exceed hospital and practice goals. The Chair will maintain the highest quality of medical care for the department while growing volume. He/she will provide leadership, ensuring a high level of cooperation, communication among the faculty and staff, and will be personally responsible for promoting and maintaining excellence and integrity in quality and patient care. This individual will monitor volume, clinical quality, operations improvements, residency programs, and financial performance of the department. It is anticipated that he/she will be an active clinician and educator and will be a visible leader and mentor. The new Chair must share and demonstrate a passion for the institutional mission of exceptional clinical, education, and research services, including inter-professional team building. He/she must have the business acumen and cultural sensitivity to manage in a complex matrixed organization and demonstrate the interpersonal skills that will assure successful relationship building with a variety of external and internal stakeholders, including community clinicians, leaders, and donors. Professional Experience/Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated accomplishment as a member of the leadership team of a large, community teaching hospital and/or academic medical center. A regional or national reputation as an outstanding clinician/educator in radiology; a proven track record as an effective leader in a complex, highly competitive setting. Professional accomplishments that would support a faculty appointment with an academic rank at the Associate Professor or Professor level. Demonstrated effectiveness in clinical program development and professional education in a large teaching hospital environment. Demonstrated success in creating, executing, and monitoring strategic plans to achieve established goals. Demonstrated success in leading an imaging enterprise with the ability to effectively identify opportunities for advancement/improvement and recommend/advocate for specific actions. Exceptional analytic and communication skills with the ability to effectively and concisely communicate complex findings to diverse groups and individuals. A proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage several high-priority projects at the same time and delegate appropriately. Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities or threats and apply effective management principles to achieve success. Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines. The ability to create a high energy, results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other's contributions. The ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff. Excellent verbal, written, and group presentation skills. Ability to work effectively with public and private organizations. Strong personal and professional commitment to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce and ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds. Preference will be accorded candidates who have demonstrated the ability to organize and oversee the strategic and operational aspects of a large clinical service in a teaching environment. Strong communication skills are essential and a track record of leading a group of physicians and collaborating effectively with hospital management and professionals in other disciplines is valued.
