Project Manager
Aptive seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to support the National Health, Lung, and Blood Institute Program Management Support Services (PMSS) activities. In this role, you will provide advanced portfolio, program, and project management leadership for complex biomedical and public health research initiatives. You will work closely with federal program leads, scientific staff, and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely, high-quality execution of NHLBI's strategic priorities. The ideal candidate has NHLBI experience. This position requires exceptional organization, communication, and analytical skills, as well as a proven track record of managing complex projects in scientific or health-related environments. They exceed client expectations with high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in portfolio, program, or project management, preferably for a federal agency. If degree is not in a science-related field, 3+ years of experience must be in a biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organization. Bachelor's degree in applicable field (e.g., science, public health, business, or project management). Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams while maintaining excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs) preferred. Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management and collaboration platforms. Desired Qualifications
Strategic thinker with a drive to execute a wide variety of tasks and deliverables with a high attention to detail. Experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, resource coordination, scheduling, and risk mitigation. Understanding of NIH and NHLBI organizational structure. Experience developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and milestone and deliverables tracking. Experience coordinating communication between stakeholders, including scientific and administration audiences, and coordinating cross-functional work across NHLBI and NIH workgroups. Adept at synthesizing program data, summarizing key findings, and developing briefing materials for leadership audiences. Adept at facilitating and documenting project meetings, capturing minutes, action items, and decisions.
