The HR Business Partner is responsible for partnering the Supply Chain & Manufacturing and Research & Development functions in the US to help develop and execute upon their people strategies, drive engagement, and ensure alignment with Abcam's overall growth strategy. Working to support the HR Directors for SCM & R&D, the HRBP will be primarily responsible for delivering key projects and initiatives. Working in collaboration with the Centers of Excellence, the HRBP will be integral in building their business areas' talent base, design their ways of working and operating models, and drive transformation. This position reports to the HR Director for Research & Development, is part of the HR Leadership team job family and will be an on-site role expected to be in office located in Waltham, MA 4 days per week. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Strategic Partnership & Influence: Build trusted relationships with leaders across the business to influence key talent and organizational decisions. Serve as a strategic advisor and the primary HR interface for your function, aligning people strategies with business goals in close collaboration with Centers of Excellence (CoEs). Engagement & Culture: Actively assess team engagement levels and partner with leaders to design and implement initiatives that foster a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture. Champion organizational culture in all interactions and lead efforts that enhance employee experience and retention. Leadership Coaching & Change Management: Provide expert coaching to leaders on complex people matters, including team dynamics, leadership development, and change management. Support the successful implementation of organizational changes through clear communication strategies and thoughtful impact planning. Workforce Planning & Performance: Partner with HR Directors and collaborate with business leaders to develop headcount plans, budgets, and forecasts. Leverage people analytics to identify trends, diagnose issues, and deliver actionable insights that drive performance, productivity, and informed decision-making. Collaboration & Employee Relations: Partner with HR Advisors and CoEs to manage complex employee relations cases and proactively address people-related challenges. Work closely with HR Directors and business leaders to anticipate future workforce needs and ensure alignment with broader HR and business strategies. The essential requirements of the job include: Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist or HRBP experience. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or another related field. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environments; Proficient in data analysis and decision-making using quantitative methods; Working knowledge of employment law in the US states in which we employ; Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site or global teams and fluent in written and spoken English. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to travel
no more than 10% of time to Eugene, OR as business needs dictate It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: CIPD or HRCI/SHRM qualified or equivalent.
