Jefferson Einstein Hospital Seeks Comprehensive Ophthalmologist
Jefferson Einstein Hospital, Philadelphia, our employed specialty care practice group, is seeking to add a new comprehensive ophthalmologist to our ophthalmology team. Since 1995, our ophthalmology team has been serving 7,000-9,000 patients annually treating a wide variety of cases and performing surgeries for patients in Northern Philadelphia. Not only do they serve the city of Philadelphia, but they also help educate future ophthalmologists. The new ophthalmologist will have a desire to serve patients from a variety of backgrounds and teach. Join us; make a difference. In this role, you will be responsible for: Perform comprehensive examinations of the visual system to determine the nature or extent of ocular disorders. Test patient vision. Perform ophthalmic surgeries such as cataract, entropion/ectropion repair, ptosis repair, glaucoma, refractive, corneal, vitro-retinal, eye muscle, laser trabeculoplasty, laser iridotomy, strabismus, and oculoplastic surgeries. Diagnose or treat injuries, disorders, or diseases of the eye and eye structures including the cornea, sclera, conjunctiva, or eyelids. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals to provide optimal patient care. Two optometrists, one ophthalmologist, six ophthalmology techs, four PSR. Prescribe ophthalmologic treatments or therapies such as chemotherapy, cryotherapy, and low vision therapy. Prescribe corrective lenses such as glasses and contact lenses. Prescribe assistive medical devices or related treatments. Conduct clinical or laboratory-based research in ophthalmology. Equipment such as: Humphrey Visual Field, OCT-Ocular Coherence Topography, Fundas Camera, IOL Master, Yag Laser, SLT Laser, Argon laser, Corneal Topography, Goldman Visual Field.
