Environmental Sr. Engineer

Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking talented individuals who can grow with Amkor Technology Arizona as an Environmental Sr. Engineer. An Environmental Sr. Engineer is responsible for the overall tasks related to the Construction, Operation and Permitting of environmental facilities within the workplace. The Environmental Sr. Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting Environmental Utilities including: UPWS [Ultra Pure Water System], WWTS [Wastewater Treatment System (Organic, Inorganic, BRF)], and APCS [Air Pollution Control System]. This role supports Amkor's new Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) factory/site in Peoria, AZ. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leads a clean, orderly, and safe workplace. Develops system documentation including PM job plans, operating instructions, out of control action plans and training. Starts automatic feed of solid and liquid materials through equipment units, including heating, cooling and chemical vessels, mixing tanks, ion exchange beds, and filter presses. Operates and controls pumping, cooling, heating, exhaust and associated systems to meet specifications within a wafer fabrication facility. Observes gauges, signals, and recording instruments, turns valves, and moves controls to regulate temperatures, pressures, and flow of wastewater, DI water, and chemical constituents through system to affect prescribed reaction within critical limits. Performs and leads diagnostic and troubleshooting practices to determine root cause and corrective actions needed to maintain systems operation within specifications. Performs emergency and corrective maintenance actions to repair damaged equipment or correct out of specification conditions. Ensures processing conditions and process output are within regulatory limits. Responsible for correcting conditions and alerting management of discrepancies. Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of equipment systems are met, and equipment operations, repairs, modifications, and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements. Develops, leads and reviews plans, specifications, and cost estimates, construction safety and phasing plans, and updating electrical infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Additional duties based on business needs, including ERT. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, Wastewater, Atmospheric, or Mechanical Engineering. MS Engineering degree is a plus. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in relevant fields. Proficient knowledge and understanding of Environmental Laws (NEPA, TSCA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.), OSHA, ISO 14001, EPA cert process, and risk identification and mitigation. Demonstrates and leads competence and comprehensive knowledge concerning adjacent disciplines such as automation controls, water, gas and chemicals or environmental. High understanding of processes, permitting, and construction related to WWT, UPWS, APCS, etc. Team building, analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written, verbal, presentation, and listening communications skills across functional departments and with external customers, contractors, and suppliers. Computer skills including MS Office with the ability to operate corporate email, spreadsheets, word processing, engineering drawing databases at a highly proficient level. Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed for business purposes, or to be called-in to work in the event of emergency or business needs. Physical Requirements: May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and possibly strain. Must have the ability to safely climb ladders, and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces. Sensory demands might include smells associated with industrial chemicals and exposure to sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment. Required to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and to adjust heavy objects. Must also be physically able to wear a personal respirator. Preferred Qualifications

Preference for candidates with experience in environmental facilities, large-scale plants, and construction site engineering projects in the semiconductor field. Strongly prefer experience in facility management and maintenance of semiconductor/advanced manufacturing facilities. Past experience in managing cleanroom utility equipment, facility optimization, energy-saving planning, and utility operations highly preferred. Location: This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.
