Configuration and Asset Administrator

The Configuration and Asset Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate records of IT assets and configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures data integrity within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), supports SAM processes, and contributes to effective IT service delivery and compliance. What you'll do: Configuration Management Maintain and update the CMDB with accurate CI data and relationships. Perform regular audits and reconciliation of configuration data. Ensure compliance with configuration management policies and standards. Drive adoption, educate on best practices, identify process gaps and work to improve. Asset Management Monitor asset lifecycle, including warranty and support contracts. Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets, including installations, entitlements, and usage. Monitor software usage trends for underused or unused software, reallocation or consolidation Be an active participant in internal and external licensing audits, providing accurate and timely data and collaborating on compliance, identification and reduction of licensing related processes and risks. Develop and enforce software asset management (SAM) policies and procedures. May assist in contract negotiations, renewals or true-up processes. What you'll need: A strong understanding of software licensing models (e.g., per-user, per-device, subscription). At least 24 years of experience in IT asset and/or configuration management. Experience with CMDB tools (BMC Helix, BMC Discovery) and SAM tools (Flexera). Familiarity with IT asset lifecycle processes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Certifications (Preferred): ITIL Foundation Certification Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) The starting pay range for this position is: $117,600.00 - $156,400.00 Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
