Equity Trading Role

The Equity Trading team in New York is part of the Global Trading group within BlackRock Global Markets (BGM) and is responsible for executing equity and equity derivative orders in the Americas. This includes substantial volumes of cash equities, CFDs, listed and OTC derivatives. The desk supports a variety of internal investment teams, including global macro, stock selection, ETFs, index funds, and transition management. Responsibilities: Seek to provide Best Execution across a range of equity derivative products (listed and OTC equity options, futures, ETFs, etc.) for all of BlackRock's internal businesses. Manage equity orders in a logical, risk-controlled manner with a high sensitivity to fiduciary responsibilities. Generate and enhance trading reports that analyze large data sets for Best Execution. Monitor market activity in areas of specialization and provide feedback to portfolio managers. Support investment teams in terms of information flow, trade ideas, and data requests. Oversee day-to-day administrative issues in support of trading activities and liaison with trading operations. Pro-actively contribute to the investment process to both reduce transaction costs and identify outperformance opportunities. Work with internal eTrading and Trading Research groups to innovate systems, trading analytics, and coordinate implementation. Develop and maintain essential external relationships as required for Best Execution. Qualifications: BA/BS or higher degree(s) - Economics, mathematics, engineering, physical science preferred, but all majors considered. 2-5 years of relevant equity trading experience with equity option and derivatives experience preferred. Data analysis or financial coding skills preferred (Python, R, SQL, etc.). Basic understanding of fundamentals and concepts of portfolio/risk management. Extensive experience using electronic/algorithmic execution tools. Demonstrated proficiency with trading technology across various trading systems/platforms (FlexTrader and BBG EMSX experience preferred). Comprehensive understanding of the liquidity and microstructure of equity markets. Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders. Analytical and creative approach to solving complex problems. Well organized, disciplined approach to work with a high level of attention to detail. Willingness to learn and trade new asset classes and trading strategies. Strong work ethic with a high degree of self-motivation. For New York, NY only, the salary range for this position is USD$116,000.00 - USD$155,000.00. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
