Associate Sourcing Manager
Responsible for all Direct Material sourcing activities supporting the Writing division categories of Writing Systems, Purchased Inks, Metals, Wood Case Pencil Components. The primary objective is to drive strategies that deliver a competitive advantage, productivity gains, lead-time reductions, service level improvement, and supplier quality goals. The current spend is comprised of a global supplier base and is spread across our global manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities: Actively monitor and drive resolution for current / future issues related to categories with long development / replacement timing (Nibs, Reservoirs, Purchased Ink) Develop and lead implementation of commodity strategies resulting in cost savings as well as improved supplier performance that fully supports current and future manufacturing / business goals. Develop and lead productivity projects in support of business goals based on - but not limited to the following areas: Supplier selection, Supplier Consolidation / Introduction, Negotiated Savings, NPD Changes, Quality Enhancements, Raw Material Changes. Lead negotiations related to projects affecting your suppliers/commodities. Support day to day activities in the following areas: Raw Material Discontinuation, NPD Activities, Quality, Manufacturing Supplier Performance Goals, Make vs. Buy Analysis, and Acts as the point of accountability for escalation and arbitration for supplier related issues. General supplier management including communicating and resolving daily issues between internal organizations and suppliers, leading weekly cross-functional team calls to cover open issues, actively working/monitoring quality and performance issues. Conduct regular domestic and international supplier business reviews with strategic suppliers that include supplier performance reviews, technology roadmaps, business growth strategies and supply market changes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as supply/demand planning, operations, engineering, marketing, quality and finance to effectively drive accurate material forecasting, purchasing, compliance and standardized processes that enable continuity of supply, reduces E&O exposure, lowers material cost and ensures alignment between sourcing strategy and overall Operating Segment objectives. Conduct research and analyze international supply marketplace, maintain working knowledge of international business trends including global industry issues, cost drivers, global pricing, global market conditions, and economic indicators. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, or related field. 5+ years' experience in global sourcing or supply chain. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills. Project Execution: assist in detailed project plans including cost and timeline. Strong analytical (root cause analysis), and problem-solving. Self-motivated and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel up to 25% of time. Strong negotiation skills. Proven leadership skills and talent development skills.
