Golf Mechanic
We are currently seeking a mechanic for our golf department. The mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of various gasoline and diesel powered golf course maintenance equipment. The mechanic also assists in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building, contributes to a preventative maintenance program, and places safety procedures as a top priority. Essential functions include: Communicating any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the equipment manager and/or assistant superintendent. Inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis. Prioritizing equipment repair and maintenance work. Setting up and modifying new equipment as needed. Repairing and adjusting engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment. Keeping maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected; and performing related tasks as required. Qualifications include: Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automobile apparatuses. Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools. Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate maintenance work to repair that piece of equipment. Ability to respond to common inquiries or needs of staff members. Ability to read budgets and interpret numbers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Must have a valid driver's license. Why work for Nemacolin?
