Install and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises. Residency Requirements: Successful candidates will reside within 30 miles driving distance under normal driving conditions to the Texarkana Service Center. Essential Job Functions:
Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters. Test singlephase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracy Program meters Perform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment Investigate irregular usage Investigate energy diversion Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms Minimum Requirements:

Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations. Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends. Work late shifts as needed. Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position. Effectively communicate with other employees, customers, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner. Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the general public. Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct. Report hazards and abnormal conditions. Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees. There are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license/certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.
