The role of Tax Associate is to assist in the tax preparation process for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, non-profits, and other customers to ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations. Tasks will include obtaining and reviewing tax information, preparing tax returns, researching tax issues and responding to IRS inquiries. Responsibilities Prepare tax returns including supporting work papers for various entity types Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities Research and consult on various tax projects Research tax matters Anticipate problems/issues and keep in-charge/manager informed of engagement status Respond to clients in timely manner as promised Develop positive working relationships with all clients Foster environment of teamwork Participate in recruitment of new and experienced associates Maintain confidentiality at all times Other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or 150 credits to meet CPA license requirements 0-2 years of recent public accounting experience GPA 3.25 or higher Understanding & application of fundamental principles of tax law Exhibit understanding of authorities, legal precedents, rulings and regulation levels Understanding of computer software for tax preparation Strong time and work management skills Effective communication and listening skills Displays executive presence, business acumen, and "street smarts" Substantial progress toward certification Effective analytical and problem-solving ability Why You Should Join Us
